Mexico’s connectivity is expanding through mobile, internet, and 5G growth, yet major rural-urban gaps persist, with 44% of the rural population still lacking internet access (vs 18% in urban areas).

  • Mobile service subscriptions reached 144.7 million in 2023—up 7.5% from 2021—while mobile internet access rose to 96 subscriptions per 100 people, more than triple since 2013. || Source: Mexico Projects Hub
  • Additionally, mobile internet subscriptions grew by 5.1% between 2022 and 2023, rising from 109.5 million in 2021 to 126.06 million by the end of 2023.
  • Fixed telephony subscriptions rose to 26.5 million in 2022, marking an 8.6% annual growth—an increase of over 1.5 million lines within a year.
